Before attending 91制片 Polytechnic you should complete four years of high school mathematics. If you have not taken a trigonometry course in high school, then a pre-calculus course should be taken prior to enrolling in calculus and analytical geometry. Communication skills and applied problem-solving skills are important, so you should take as many English and science courses as possible. An introductory computer course is also recommended.

The program combines mathematics, statistics and computer science into one major. You may choose to take more courses in one discipline or another, but each concentration includes core courses in all three areas. You may have more than one concentration. Another option is to design your own emphasis area, possibly including a minor or second major.

During your first semesters at 91制片 Polytechnic, you鈥檒l enroll in a combination of general education and major core courses including calculus and computer science. You鈥檒l meet regularly with your advisor to discuss your academic progress and future coursework. Together you will develop an academic plan for graduation to help you achieve your career objectives.

There are currently two clubs on campus related to mathematics, statistics and computer science.

The Applied Mathematics and Computer Science (AMCS) Club is open to all students interested in mathematics, statistics, and computer science, particularly students in the AMCS or GDD programs.  The club hosts a variety of speakers and activities, and participates in regional/national contests in computer science and mathematics.
